I'm sorry to say that as an Aussie I understood the dog more than the woman, however I would go out on a limb here and say it's small pictured people who are passionate about their cause, a green version of NIMBY.
Looks to be attended by a mere handful of folk who would likely exercise their right to free speech to protest anything mineral related. I couldn't see them building any political sway from this, they'll have their voice and everything will move on as usual regardless.
