The need for power storage efficiency isn't going anywhere no matter what. Even when EV roll along on electrified roads.
And ICE will still have billions spent on becoming more efficient for a long time. 50km / L, then 100km, then 200km could remain less carbon intensive than EV for decades yet.
Hybrid could still be around for 100 years.
