Tesla and VW and Mercedes are using synthetic graphite and synthetic carbon tech (Ex. Group14 Anodes), cause there are not enough high purity graphite mines in the world to meet EV demand. So EV industry sticking with synthetic.
Possibly better to use natural graphite to create anodes for smartphones and laptops. There quality requirements is far less than EV Anodes.
