There is new in Sweden that another battery factory is about to be built - in Svenljunga in southern Sweden relatively close to Gothenburg where among other things both Volvo Cars and Volvo Group has their HQ. The reserved plot size is one million square meters.

It might be the announced Volvo / Northvolt factory but SVT (Swedish TV) are claiming it is Freyr.

Apparently the comment from the company is that they are evaluating several places and Svenljunga is one of them so not really a solid confirmation.

The press release from the real estate firm who sign a LOI fith the battery maker calls it an "international battery manufacturer" which be either of those or even someone else.

If it isn't Northvolt it would be a new factory to add to the map and which needs raw materials. >If it turns out to be Freyr it would mean TLG would be close at hand to supply. If it isn't still means that the demand in Sweden will go up even further.
