@Blue swims I don't know who the African competitor below is but it isn't SYR. For starters, SYR already have an operating mine, processing plant and staff in place to produce 360kt/yr of graphite concentrate at 94%-95% for the next 50 yrs. The grade at the pit is 15.73% not 10. That's the resource which is enough for 500 years. The recovery rate is around 80% and between 80-85% of the concentrate, it varies each month is graphite fines which is optimal for AAM. The only thing correct is the 56% anode retained in downstream processing because the only info available on this comes from SYR because SYR is the only company apart from China ever to produce AAM outside of a test tube. Most of the other mines in Africa/Madagascar are predominantly large size flake.

Best to read the note at the bottom of the diagram before attempting any apples and apples comparisons.

If anybody thinks SYR and TLG are competitors have rocks in their head with zero understanding of the graphite/AAM demand in the next 15-20yrs. I attended the Benchmark Minerals webinar in which they produced a chart showing graphite fines/AAM to be in a ever increasing deficit from now until at least 2035. As a SYR owner, I wish TLG would hurry up and get their mining licence so they can get their act together to help us out. SYR + the Chinese can't even come close to meeting future demand alone. The market in 10 years time will need another 15-20 SYR/TLG's.

If hydrogen cells ever take off, god help us.
