It's good that they throw money around, sure, but they will never get price parity this way. On top, it seems 4680 will become the standard for car batteries. Pouch cells are too dangerous, prismatic cells might be limited to LFP chemistry. With Teslas superior numbers, anyone who is diverging from 4680 will pay more per GWh and pay a premium without having a better product. We will see.
