However, I respectfully disagree with the minimisation of the effect of the Coronavirus on the market.
The reason that China has minimised its infection rate is due to the tremendous disruption that it has put its economy through. I doubt any other country has the capacity to do this.
My daughter has just returned to Shanghai after I brought her here at the beginning of the shutdown. She is in enforced isolation as she spent 4 hours in transit in the airport in Japan. There will be temperature checks every time she eventually leaves her apartment, catches a metro or goes to work.
I believe that the USA is 10 days away from becoming Italy, as will Germany, France and Spain. I am not sure about Australia as the governments collectively are treating the issue seriously, we generally have the ability to self space and as a rule we are more aware of the issue and the population is concerned.
Yes the people hoarding and fighting over toilet paper are suffering from delusions. But if workplaces are being shut down, airlines, cinemas, restaurants, hotels and retail are becoming insolvent that will massively effect the market.
Again it is just my opinion, so everyone should make up their own mind. But it is an alternate view to consider.
