    @DoctorGeorge I have wondered what is behind TLS restructuring, future of NBN ownership, 5G etc and Penn's plan for TLS.

    If indeed there is a plan to split the company into separate legal entities then the infrastructure group will undoubtedly become the future owner of the NBN at least in a majority ownership situation. Govt clearly want to give the appearance of competition on one hand yet will also want to realise the value of the NBN back to Gov coffers not to mention their philosophy for Govt not to be a business owner. Clearly Penn is positioning for this eventuality imo.

    if so then the separation of retail and infrastructure is paramount however not under the same corporate (TLS) banner. So the logical conclusion is, as you have inferred, a structural split and hence listed entities.

    The question then is when, how and at what financial structure. Regardless, there will be big benefits for holders and hence holding even a small parcel will keep you in the game to benefit from this hypothesis.
