it’s really been a disastrous investment over the past decade. No idea what the future holds. But it appears to be more of a trading stock then long-term hold.
Have a look at the financial metrics via CommSec or whatever broker you use and generally the pattern is south not north.
Forecasts by Macquarie on the mobile division of gradually reducing margins look like they’ve been reversed today.
I think a lot of people including myself piled on the low and most of us would now be sitting on 10% early returns.
the best thing about Telstra is the volume. This is one share you can slip in and out of in a heartbeat.
as long as you are realistic about capital growth it does pay healthy dividend. I’m thinking hold as part of the diversified portfolio, trade if you’re looking for long-term growth.
