Although you may think Sol Trujillo was an overpaid clueless "pick" , he certainly had the courage to stand up to the government, who, having sold this company, still thought they could kick it around - forever dictating wholesale prices, always to the advantage of competitors. Thanks to him, the 3G network was built and there would have been a fast wholesale broadband network to follow if it had not been for more government bickering and interference. With the advent of Labor's NBN, the "guts" has been ripped out of Telstra, to the extent of a business the size of Qantas (as described elsewhere).
Maybe now the government and the ACCC, havinbg raped Telstra for years, will let it die in peace!! The competitors have now got what they wanted!
...and may Telstra go nowhere near the rotting mess called the NBN.
