With projected 5 billion in free cash flows in the short term, Telstra will have more $ than the government surplus. Who says they have to remain a traditional Telco carrier. With their wireless and cable networks and media on the cheap at present, why not an integrated media/telecommunications company. They will blitz any opposition on the content they can provide (which people pay a premium for), while the governoment and competitors will have their costs sunk into fixed infrastructure at lower fixed returns.
Just a thought.
