I use a combination of research, news, T/A in a combination that works for me for EARLY ENTRIES for derivatives.
My hit rate is steady at around 2:1 or 65% ... tight stops.
Whilst I trade in a manner that is conservative and sufficient to provide an income stream, I do miss trading opportunities ... grrr
I prefer to 'do the yards' and get set into a solid trade that say will yield $3-4000 return (net av. $2500) which translates into trading less rather than the frenzy some traders get themselves into.
I average around 1.5 trades per week which say with a life of up to three weeks or so means ongoing managing up to 5 trades which is about right for me ...
The opportunities I miss are few but noticeable (grrr) and whilst I might occasionally anquish over what is lost opportunity, I content myself with the fact that as long as I have more trading opportunities than trading rate, I won't go out of biz ...
