I won't speak for Meerkat, but I'd say like any other trader he is interested with the wiggles of these charts. When they go up they dance, when they go down they sell. Traders need to keep a close eye on what a stock is doing and have a good understanding of how the other traders who have shares in the company react so they can trade accordingly. And what better place to get an understanding of what the market sentiment is for a stock than by posting your findings on a forum and having people provide their insights on their thoughts, however accurate or misguided they may be.

I'm no trader but I am learning the techniques they use because the tools they use are borderline scientific when you compare them to fundamental analysis tools.
