Yeah I heard about gamestop. Had a serious impact on a hedge fund that had a big short position on the stock. Nearly put them out of business!!
Anyway with regards to TNG. Yep don't see the point myself with such piddly amounts. Can't be any profit in it so.....?

Could be someone trying to kill any momentum at the open hoping to encourage those who took up the shortfall shares to sell below 10c. But someone could do that with shares they own outright. However if someone does do it with shares they already own they could be seen to be manipulating the market. Just my guess, don't know.
Maybe it's ok when you shortsell. Beats me!

Could also be there's no record of the short seller if the trade is closed in the same day. ie sell in the morning and then buy back before the close?
