For several months we've been watching it happening. Sometimes it's very obvious. Some of the most unambiguous examples have been the auctions, where right at the last seconds before 4.10PM, a *seller* adjusts the order so that it will go through a pip lower. When this repeatedly happens for months, it's pretty obvious. You can speculate as to why all you like, but if not for manipulation, why would a *seller* alter their order at the last second to get a lower price? If it was a one off you might guess it was just a weird thing, maybe an oversight, fat finger or whatever, but it consistently happens.
There several other examples we've been watching which are similarly obvious.
Of course, someone might want to sell, that's fine, whether they want to take profit or run away to cut losses or they received a large amount in an acquisition deal and just don't want to wait patiently, I think we all understand that. The thing is, there's a lot of selling done in a way to gratuitously lower the price rather than either strategically avoid that, or simply dump without any strategy, but why would a seller actively want a lower price?
I've closely watched the trading action of many companies where *buyers* alter their orders in the final seconds to strategically lower the price by a pip, and that makes perfect sense, but here we see *sellers* do that.
The next two months definitely will be very interesting to watch. Hopefully we get the turnaround some are predicting. It'll certainly be difficult to hold back the market with the upcoming news (assuming we do get it)
