    It's like reading the testimony of a guilty man in court with piles of evidence against him desperately trying to plead his case.

    Charting is universally seen as a predictive tool. That's literally what it is, that's literally what it's called. Setting a target in the future is literally a prediction, by definition. I'm not sure why some of you are so hung up on a correct definition of a word being applied to what you're doing, especially when it's the normal word to use for it.

    The whole point of charting is to create a forecast (or prediction or estimate or guess or expectation of whatever word you want to use for what is obviously a prediction).

    Charting does not measure fair value of a company. That's fundamental analysis which is completely different. Charting is literally used most commonly to set specific future price targets. It is literally a predictive tool, that's literally its function and purpose.
