I don’t disagree with your sentiment, or the need to think about costs, but I don’t think it’s right that “plenty of IT experts are available”. We’ve established the Academy for a reason.
Management have taken a view that we needed to build staffing levels at the present time, and reward them well. With a focus on building the top line (revenue). Presumably, they feel focus on the bottom line (cost cutting, margins) can come later. But the thing to do now is build.
We can argue about that, but I’m going to give them time to allow their strategy to unfold. I don’t agree with a short term trigger happy response of changing horses midstream. They should be allowed a couple more years at least to see how their strategy plays out.
