I don't know about the sophisticated scanning software, but my understanding is that the share price rise was on the back of :
- a network sharing deal with IIN six months ago;
- a wholesale agreement with AAPT in November;
- a proposed share buyback by PWT; as well as
- a proposed capital return by PWT.

I held PWT for five years and was disappointed with the takeover proposal. I sold two days ago. I can't see anyone else overbidding TEL. (Thought SGT was a possibility a year or two ago when they were still to rollout their own ADSL network).
