JOGMEC provides financial support to Toyota Tsusho Corporation
for a lithium exploration project in Argentina
Japan Oil, Gas & Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC, President: Hirobumi Kawano), has
decided to provide financial support of 50% of the total exploration cost for Salar de Olaroz
Lithium Project by Toyota Tsusho Corporation, as part of JOGMECs overseas joint geological
survey scheme.
JOGMEC has collaborated with Toyota Tsusho Corp. for its acquisition of lithium project interest in
a range of activities including:
1. Feasibility study on infrastructure such as electricity in the Puna Region of Argentina where
Salar de Olaroz is located
2. Joint study for lithium recovery from natural brine
With this decision on financing, JOGMEC now has launched full-scale support in the lithium
development project.
