In all seriousness I got started reading leavitt brothers website http://www.leavittbrothers.com/education/chart_patterns/
, and watching robbbbbs youtube videos (tradethetrade). A tip I have is just focus on basic formations, i.e. support/resistance lines, double top/bottom, flags/wedges etc. Also, if you feel you must use indicators, limit yourself to a few. I like stochastic, and MACD.

From there I started posting on hotcopper, and even though I rarely got truly constructive feedback, the process of drawing a chart, listing the bull and bear signals and formulating an opinion is what helped.

After you nail the basic formations you should start adding more techniques, some like candlesticks. Personally I like pitchforks and some Gann techniques (although I wouldn't recommend Gann for at least a year, often confusing and more mystical than practical).
