Over in the UK Stratmin are known by many as Shatmin.
Unfortunately they have a long record of over-promising and under-delivering
Furthermore the Graphite market looks to be bifurcating which could have extremely negative implications for Stratmins pricing

Crowded field
Graphite is another tricky one. Roger Bade at London broker Whitman Howard reports that the price for standard large flake is now $US1150 a tonne, well down on the 2012 peak of $US2800 a tonne. He notes that one northern hemisphere graphite company believes that continued growth in spherical graphite, the anode material used in lithium-ion batteries, is the key to any hope of salvation. China is apparently the only producer of spherical graphite and its exports increased 27 per cent a year between 2009 and 2014. Bade says this spherical version now accounts for more than 25 per cent of the flake graphite market, up from almost zero six years ago.
Clearly the graphite field is very crowded and just the number of advanced exploration projects, let alone all the latecomers, means that the shadow of oversupply hangs over the industry.
