It's a good move for CBA... it's adds $2bn straight to the bottom line given they are buying the company for book value and CBA trades at over 2 times book value. An excellent aquisition. CBA is going to be the best performing bank in Australia, and I dare say in the world!
If they play their cards right they can really make a push into the global markets... They should work with the Australian government and work out a way to make Australia a financial mecca. We have 4 AA rated banks, some with excellent risk management capabilities. Why not leverage this and expand globally at a time when assets can be bought for peanuts!?!?
