Very quietly, something quite dramatic is happening today. The XJO ords index is at a new one-year high, and also a raft of leading stocks are also at new highs. The list below includes some very big leaders. The stocks listed all have volume exceeding 250,000 to exclude aberrations, and not only are they at new highs but ALL listed have their bids above the high, at 2:35pm. Thats' powerful stuff. News Corp, Woolies, Wesfarmers, AMP, Crown.
In other words the market is extremely strong, even though FMG and RIO and other metals are weak. The quality of the spike is very high. All of which leads me to think that the materials will soon catch up pretty dramatically.
Ironically, one of my very favourite foreign indicators, the US Transportation index, is at a new all time high today.
