Scrapping tax on fuel??
Currently the federal government raises about $10bil a year on fuel tax.
And yes this was initially introduced to fund roads but now just forms part of the governments general revenue raising.
If it is not raised from fuel tax it will have to be raised from somewhere else.
All scrapping the fuel tax would mean is cheaper fuel but less take home pay as individual tax rates are increased or slower economy as corporate rates are increased.
