Personally I think one of the biggest problems we have is that here in Australia we expect to be soft.
We expect that if you do something wrong - you can find a soft way through the judicial process -- soft judges, appeals, your mother hated you, your father bashed you, you have an ageing dog to look after ------------- god knows what.
Well, the big news is -------------------- the rest of the world doesn't work like that.
Unfortunately ------------- some countries mean exactly what they say.
It really pays to listen to what Nations say - particularly in law and custom - if you intend to visit.
And, if they say that something that you intend to do is illegal - and will bring severe consequence - well, you need to grow up and listen - or face the music.
There are countries where what I do here in Australia that is perfectly legal and acceptable - is indeed illegal in those countries -----------
so, I just don't go to those countries ------------- at all. After all, I am not missing out on much - those countries hold zero interest for me - they just happen to be on the way to somewhere else ---------- somewhere advanced.
So, easy ----------- choose another route.
But, above all ------------- respect that it is their country and their rules and laws --------------- as backward as they appear to us.
If one wants to bring trouble to one's door -------------- fine, chance your arm -------------- but, be aware that bullets hurt.
It really is simple stuff.
