GeoJay, does it really matter? For what its worth, fraccing or fracking is slang for fracturing, as I'm sure you know, so there is no right or wrong way to spell it, since it isn't actually a word! Unlike cracking, which IS actually a word. But for the record, I too work in the industry (which you seem to LOVE pointing out) , and I spell it fraccing, mainly because there is no 'k' in fracturing.
