No use, was in regard to our position of sentience on this planet. It comes with obligations, be they incidental or imposed.
Now I see that Free Will has a negative religious connotation to you as well, not dissimilar to the point whereu and DBT9 were trying to get across to me. Sure, religions are primarily marketing bodies and they will tell people that it's an act of Free Will to comply with their edicts. Maybe it is Free Will to hand yourself over to others and become a sheep, even so, I just can't even begin to grasp how anybody can imagine they don't have some degree of Free Will.
I'm not sure who you've been mixing with, but my associates are not automatons, and they are not even remotely animals, apart from physiological similarities, excluding relative brain size and function. Humans are another order of animal altogether, though this is very difficult to observe today.
I test my beliefs as best I can with what I have to work with and will continually do so.
