Yes, words are all symbols. Free Will is a label. It's a label for a decision of conscience one makes between good and bad. Others are love, hate, faith, belief, certainty, etc.
So what if we argue over something for centuries, today we solved Free Will for you.
Applying the label certainly does not make something real, but in this case we know that at a certain point regarding a human choosing between right and wrong it becomes their conscious choice, with a few caveats to boot.. They are somewhat unhindered in making that choice. Whatever comes of it later is another thing altogether.
I just don't see how you can argue against your own moral choices. If Free Will does not exist then what use are we?
As for G.d. The religious get very excited when they talk about G.d. Oh, they bang on with all sorts of wonderful descriptions, how He thinks, what He plans for them, what colour they want to paint heaven when they get there, some are even going to rule with G.d's Son, young Jesus. Forgive them, for they know not what they do. Nothing is known about the nature of G.d. G.d is a hypothesis based on the personal experience, accepting that the likes of Jesus have a real divinity and via science studying this universe and all it contains, and the staggering phenomena of effect.
You are fortunate to have a good education and you worked as a cleaner in a science lab or something like that, I believe and you know that a Cause is not present in the effect. So you understand that no evidence of an empirical nature will ever, ever be produced as evidence of G.d, because that is impossible. Physical reality and G.d are two completely different natures, come realities. Our reality is limited to this reality only.
However, in your wisdom you can review effect and understand that no infinite series of fortunate accidents has even put two lego blocks together. Therefore some force of order, limitations, exactitudes of original mass, energy, centripetal spin, matter / anti-matter, natural laws, evolution, transmutation, became self-evident and highly suggestive that you are right, garbage in means garbage out.
As a universe, myriad life and human sentience came out and it's all pretty amazing, like 5 star, and this is the best universe I've ever lived in, there's a damn good chance that something pretty special went in at the front end and something pretty special caused it.
