Gee Snooker you're right - Popey boy never apologised at all, not even for standing by while the jews (and gypsies, disabled and politically incorrect) were disposed of. He just said he was "saddened" by the behaviour.
"In his forgiveness plea to Jews, the Pope said that “we are deeply saddened by the behaviour of those who in the course of history have caused these children of yours to suffer and, asking your forgiveness, we wish to commit ourselves to genuine brotherhood with the people of the Covenant.”
Not exactly recognition as the Chosen People is it?
