I really have a problem with indices and the stocks that they are geared to. It can give a false impression to the market if a scandal hits a major contributor to a sector and drags everything else down. There are stocks that have huge rises and represent a true quality company yet they are largely ignored!
Don't follow the indices too closely only the individual stocks.
