All staff dealing with Covid will be aware of the trial at the hospital and any patient they come into contact with that is eligible for the study will be informed, and asked if they wish to participate. That's just how it works.
They may even retrospectively contact eligible patients who would still be eligible. The flyer in the lift is not the primary recruitment tool - just an additional tool to capture the cohort required.
