vbenz, there are far too many "whoms" in your free speech rant. BUT You need to be able to discern the difference between "free" speech and offensive and vulgar speech. The rules are there for everyone to see BEFORE they enter the forum. All speech is free in private but some speech need to be considerate of others when made in public. I, for one, would hate to see whole threads devoted to offensive and vulgar thoughts. Racist and sexists jokes for example, or jokes that rely on mocking particular groups in a community are not funny and have nothing to do with "free" speech and all to do with perpetuating hatred and stereotypes. Freedom of speech must be balanced against the freedom of others not to feel persecuted and offended.
