    That's the point of throwing it out there.

    First we have to decide what Australia day actually means to people rather than just another day off.

    Then we have to decide whether to have it on a significant date or not.

    That will sort out a bunch of dlsagreement straight away.

    My view is that we should be celebrating what Australia is today. What it has become and maybe what it could be in the futures. Of course there should be a nod to the past but more in the theme of how far we've come and what we've achieved in a couple of hundred years.

    We should pick a date that is not particularly historic. l favor a date some time in Autumn.
