If you are correct then I can trade this again sooner than I think.
To me the share price speaks the loudest. Form today's announcement IAU is in a sticky situation.
You are correct to say that if they boot IAU they cannot extract the wealth themselves, however its also a shock that IAU even ended up here in the first place.
I shorted on the anticipation that delays and delays would eat away at the share price, and would close my position on anticipation of further EU bailouts and QE3 from the USA. The Europe scenario did play out but the second one has not.
As for "Gunboat Diplomacy" I don't care what it is. Anything that smashes the share price is a bad thing.
If my hunch is wrong (and yes I do make mistakes in trading and have coped losses before) and you are extremely confident in your call then leverage your house on it.
After all Vergengetrix (the historical figure) did go all out against Julius Ceasar in the Battle of Alesia and almost won.
