It's time to move on from the tailings story. As treefeed has exhaustively exclaimed, the tailings retreatment program did not meet expectations and will not do so in the future. The reason, very simply, is the feedstock. The higher grade material in the tailings has sunk into the lower zones of the tailings and settled into a phyxatrophic substance, making it difficult to wash. However, once washed it is still mainly scheelite and therefore not easily extracted using the current process due to its small particle size. A cyclone at the back end would help, and I understand that is something management are exploring. But to be frank, the tailings plant needs fresh tailings as feedstock, and then I think you would see a very different result. In the meantime, it will wash its face but nothing more.
The real story is the hard rock and Mt Carbine's strategic value, and the current value clearly doesn't match that strategic value...
