Damian, I am similiar age with you, from my point of view, we always need to work our way toward success. If your interest is trading, go for it! But building capital for your base are as important.

For me I am doing it parallel, having a job, 50% post tax income to investment, position my self in short term trade for a year, having long and short term position in my 2nd year. (beware in market Dip like in July recently, got to find another 25% post tax income for emergency boost to buy share)

Your dream may sounds unrealistic, but hey, we gen Y have nothing to risk of! The worse u can do is stand up after your fall, work and save for capital if u lose it..... we have the most important thing = time. Don't we?

Of cause, if you have family, wife... its always good to limiting your risk / reward factor in any investment market.
