But even then, you shouldnt retire.
In my experience, those who can afford to do what you suggest, dont. They continue to either work or be involved with some business or other activity.

Why do you want to give up on the chance to do something big in your life, like becoming a CEO of a company, or a High Court Judge or whatever ?

And what makes you think that if you are not good enough (or too lazy) to succeed in the corporate world and help run those companies, you will be able to succeed in picking the right ones to buy ?
