I'll speculate and say all this drama has been engineered to create fear.
I find it unlikely that apt would be calling analysts to reassure them, it's far more likely someone called apt to ask if they were concerned about the report. Words then turned for an agenda.
With investors already sitting on massive returns over the last few months, as I've read previously there's quite a few who are waiting for a top to take profits.
add in the uncertainty with this report, a potential leak and a bot sell off and it's the perfect ingredients to generate enough fear to drive the price down.
After watching the scare campaign with ownership matters and ongoing assault by afr and smh I'm a little sceptical.
