Couple of points the record date was 12/21 and Pay date is 12/ 27 So anybody that sells to day will not get a dividend.
Next last years dividend was $0.535 This years was 5.892
So what would cause the VanEck to increase dividend by more than 1101%. Maybe they see something bad up ahead and want to give their holders a little before JMO
Also you should watch ^REMX-NV which is the actual value of The assets held in the ETF. A few months ago the street price was 10% higher. Today about the same. Most ETFs trade lower than their NV.
