Totally agree with you LH, just another disgraceful lo-sci media beat up, apparently aimed at nothing but generating fear in the community.

We don’t get to see any of the water analyses and merely get a glimpse of the analytical techniques and a whole bunch of numbers at 0.001 to 0.005 mg/l. There is no way to determine if these are the results of the tests or merely the limits of detection for the analytical technique. Instead we get a few grand statements about Arsenic, Chromium, Nickel, Lead, Zinc, Copper and hydrocarbon products.

We are given absolutely no detail about where the water in the tank comes from. Is it collected rain water, from a bore or trucked in? You would expect to find Arsenic, Chromium, Nickel, Lead, Zinc, Copper and hydrocarbon products at various levels in all these sources. But we are given no information that allows someone to determine whether the results exceed what you might expect.

And based on the comments from the Environmental Scientist, Mark Taylor, the water should not be used for drinking. But there is absolutely no follow up to determine if the residents have another source of safe drinking water. So much for their much vaunted community concern.

When did our “old rockers” move on from love and peace to providing our scientific information? Apart from being “all very emotional about what we are doing” are they providing any useful or credible information?

BTW a “great” sampling technique – guaranteed to contaminate the water sample.
