Not 100% sure about that but I can tell you about 2 young lads I've worked with, both wanted to buy their own home. One drives a new 4wd ute, has a new trail bike (both on finance), had hangovers atleast twice a week and spends heaps of time at the snow with smart rich people each winter. The other drives an old falcon wagon and only takes a few cheap short holidays each year. Both got paid the same, one now rents a nice 3 br and the other owns a 2 br dog box that he is doing a great job of rennovating in his spare time.
I think it's harsh when people make huge sacrifices to follow their dreams then get looked down on for driving a crappy car or much worse - get told they've just had "dumb luck".
