The point is that, as soon as there is gas discovered and brought up to surface ready to be marketed, most of that gas, if not all of it, will be made ready to be exported to other countries outside of Australia and the local demand and short supply will continue on unabated while been charged more and more by unscrupulous market makers and dealers.
Once upon a time there used to be a rule that, for any gas brought to surface and ready for sale, a certain percentage of that gas had to be kept and used wholly and solely for the domestic market. I can stand correcting if I a wrong, but I believe that it was around 25% of it thus keeping more than sufficient gas to keep everyone happy and ""AT A CHEAPER PRICE"".
But that wasn't enough to satisfy the multinationals which they become more and more greedy, and where the Government had no balls at all to keep them on the straight and narrow. (If they were horses one would be forgiven to think that they were all been "gelded").
And herein lies your story.
Now do you all believe that that gas, if any, will remain wholly and solely for the Domestic market.?? Well think again because as soon as they will get better prices somewhere else, they will take it there thus causing more shortages here in Australia.
Don't forget that we are dealing with MQG here my friends and, if you take in full consideration on what they charge for their services around the nation at present, You will come up with an extremely rude shock. They don't call them the Millionaires factory for nothing.
Why do you think that Cottee wants to join them now, while bugger the shareholders that put him in there in the first place.??
Would you call that a very arrogant attitude.?? Perhaps you could, but it won't help any of us now.
Just like water on a duck's back for them....
And, once again, that is what Capitalism is all about............screw everyone you can, while you can, as much as possible.................And here is a typical example of what I am and have been saying for a long period of time.....Period!!!
If only someone could put a bad spell (Karma) on some of them, what a relief that would be.
The old Aboriginal people,( or should I say the Land Owners), they were good at pointing the bone to the ones which were doing the wrong thing. Do you think that we could raise enough money to engage one of them to point the bone at someone here which we believe he has done a serious injustice to us all.??
