My understanding that means US will only buy RE magnet from Japan, even if they are more expensive. Also, if Siemens or Bosch want to sell products to US they may need to have magnet from Japan (or if German can make REM, they may need to get NdPr from Lynas).
Then, US and Japan (maybe even Germany) may ask Malaysia to be nice to Lynas? Together they make a happy gang.
