Yes they should be in granite, the bottom of the casing will be set in granote.
I think the main aspect of this rig is that it is capable of dealing with problems should they arise, whereas in Hab-1 and 2 there were limitations to available options to fix problems. Now they can just fix them as they arise, end of story.
It basically means they can drill the required holes to the required depth.
