UQ owned the patent and did the initial proof of concept on Gram positive infections. ATH has enough IP on PBT2 to make it difficult to manage a development program, which is also outside the remit of UQ. Is it too much of a reach to assume the undisclosed agreement between them is for ATH to manage the further proof of efficacy needed with interested drug companies at no cost to UQ and ATH? and then proceed with a JV? If it's not budgeted someone else is paying for the opportunity to bid for the rights?
