I've done some contract work for Tassal and IMO they seem to go out of there way to use local people and services, even if it costs a little more (this is not uncommon for big business I may add), so most locals will tolerate tassal if dollars flow in
Within reason the Tas Gov has to back salmon farms, the state has the highest unemployment rate in the country
So I'm doubtful of the consumer boycott bug, specially in TAS
To be fair I think most people buy salmon not knowing which co it came from anyway, I nearly bought some from Norway the other day as it was on special, I ended up putting it back and bought the usual tassal one, but if your someone that doesn't check where your products originate from it would have stayed in the trolley.
I'm back in TGR as of Monday, if they continue with 4% div and fully franked I may hold this stock for a number of years to come.
