Did you see the shocking video of a Calgary Police officer screaming profanities at a young man for playing hockey — and threatening to Taser him? It’s gone viral, with millions of people across Canada and around the world watching in shock.
It’s even worse than it looks.
That outdoor arena is officially open for public skating. In fact, the City of Calgary sends a Zamboni to groom the ice. Calgary’s mayor, Naheed Nenshi, confirmed at a press release that outdoor hockey games are legal.
So why did police swear at him, physically assault him and point a Taser at him?
This young man — Ocean Weisblatt is his name — was the last one out on the ice. He was by himself when police attacked him. Why? By any definition, he wasn’t part of a “gathering”.
And despite him asking the police many times, they never actually told him what he was doing wrong.
The mainstream media, who love the lockdown, have demonized Ocean. Reports in Global News and CTV didn’t even mention the extreme police response. How could you report on this story without mentioning the Taser?
