There is very little if anything holding "Germany" together as a country. Far far less than Sweden or France. Remember "Germany" only came into existence under Bismark (who was the first Chancellor) . Bismark was still alive and assisted the second "German" Chancellor, Adolf Hitler. After the fall of Nazi Germany the land areas were occupied by NATO/USA and the East by the Warsaw Pact/USSR.
"Germany" is an artificial construct put together and only held together by foreign occupation forces. Left to its own devices it would divide up into several (traditional) countries.
