    Let's try another angle then.

    Why would the bank want the farm when they then have to dispose of it on the market and disburse the proceeds? They will end up with their funds returned after paying out the costs and the balance left to the mortgagor since it's increased in value.

    They are not using emergency powers and their actions in the legal process will be transparent to the mortgagor.

    If they are acting illegally then I can only imagine that would be as an agent of one of the major corporations who are buying assets to speed the process and as such feel empowered and untouchable but there has to be a motive or it makes no sense.
