And it wasn't so much that the tidal wave caused a leakage - the tidal wave knocked out the power supply running the cooling systems. The problems with Fukushima (as in Chernobyl) were that the plant was an older design, poorly maintained (TEPCO are STILL doing things on the cheap), built below the appropriate level with no proper sea wall, and with no backup generators to keep the cooling systems running.
And STILL nobody has died as a result of Fukushima. One worker had a heart attack. Everyone seems to forget that point, perhaps because of the paranoia surrounding radiation that can't be seen or felt. In contrast, 100s of thousands of people died, were injured, and were left homeless as a direct result of the tsunami.
But Fukushima itself? Not one single death.
So its effect on the nuclear power and uranium market is purely one of sentiment and fear. Not based on any facts at all.
